Tylvalosin is a third-generation macrolide antibiotic drug used for prophylaxis and treatment of mycoplasma. Approved by the European Union on 9 September 2004 for the prevention and treatment of porcine asthma caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae, porcine dysentery caused by Mycoplasma dysenteriae, porcine proliferative enteritis caused by Mycoplasma intracellulare and bronchial infection in chickens caused by Mycoplasma fowleri III; Approved by the FDA on 6 July 2012 for the prevention of porcine proliferative enteritis caused by Mycoplasma intracellulare.
